With the 2025 NFL draft approaching and the free agency excitement winding down, the
Washington Commanders
They must be quite satisfied with their current position. Despite needing some adjustments and additional player acquisitions to ensure 2025 surpasses 2024, Adam Peters has performed admirably during this off-season. His upcoming major challenge will involve assessing potential draftees to identify which players the Commanders ought to target.

Following trades, signings, and releases of players, Chris Trapasso from CBS Sports did this.

A newly proposed three-round mock draft envisions the Commanders selecting an edge rusher followed by an offensive tackle.

Round 1:

29. Donovan Ezeiruakuย EDGE

Boston College โ€ข Senior Year โ€ข Height: 6 feet 3 inches / Weight: 248 pounds

The Commanders will benefit from the addition of the lanky and long-limbed Ezeiruaku, who brings more external pass-rushing support.

Round 2:

64. Washington Commanders (through simulated trade with Philadelphia):

Emery Jones, OT, LSU

The Commanders presently lack both their second and third-round draft picks as these selections were included in deals to acquire Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil. This is precisely why Trapasso envisions them moving up to secure a second-round pick, enabling them to bolster their offensive line with additional talent.

A strong choice with the 29th overall pick could definitely be an edge rusher since the Commanders urgently need a genuine, reliable edge rusher. This remains their most significant weak spot, so if they do not bring anyone new through free agency before the draft, it would make sense to see them choose one at this selection number.
