Rio Ferdinand
and his
TOWIE
Reality star wife Kate has moved out of their home in Southeast
London
as payment for a luxurious £6.5 million home located in the sunny desert area of
Dubai
.

Yesterday, Kate, aged 34, took to
Instagram
to reveal that she and the former England soccer player have begun a “new chapter” in the United Arab Emirates, offering her 1.4 million followers a look at their expansive seven-bedroom home.

When explaining the Ferdinands’ choice to relocate to an upscale neighborhood, the two-child mother shared with her followers that they had talked about the move “for so long” before turning “a new home in the place where [they] first met” into a reality.

With the life update, she posted multiple pictures of her family while wearing a fresh green swimsuit, offering a glimpse inside their state-of-the-art 12,700-square-foot house featuring an expansive yard and a swimming pool.

Notable celebrities, former colleagues, and friends extended their congratulations to the family on their relocation, including figures from TOWIE’s cast.

And currently, the Daily Mail has uncovered their latest hideaway, situated within the prestigious enclosed neighborhood of Al Barari, which was available for 32.5 million dirhams (£6,550,310) as of April this year.

Al Barari, known as the Green Heart of Dubai, has received acclaim as an award-winning sustainable neighborhood, featuring approximately 15.3 million square feet of maintained natural area.

However, the region’s “rich biodiversity” and “tranquil environment” are not the sole factors contributing to its acclaim; the properties are also recognized for their “spacious floor plans” and “sleek architecture,” selling for up to 100 million dirhams (£20,154,800).

Situated just moments away from Dubai’s main social areas and facilities, the Ferdinands’ residence features a sleek and stylish all-white decor.

As mentioned in an earlier ad, their “state-of-the-art” kitchen includes premium Miele equipment along with a modern central island featuring gray countertops.

Referred to as a “peaceful sanctuary,” the primary bedroom adopts a simpler style regarding furnishings, featuring wood and earthy tones.

Nevertheless, the primary bedroom features a ‘spa-themed’ restroom, separate walk-in wardrobes for both occupants, and a terrace where they can take in the scenery of their vibrant garden as well as the expansive lake.

In another part of the house, the open-concept living space maintains the continuous cream color scheme, featuring pale green drapes that complement the extensive vegetation visible outdoors, offering glimpses of the upscale swimming pool through large sliding glass doors.

The residence includes a basement theater, along with a rooftop garden offering scenic vistas of the vast Dubai desert.

However, the Ferdinands will not be the only famous couple in Al Barari, as the neighborhood is also home to

and her husband, former Real Madrid footballer Sergio Carrallo.

It follows Rio’s recent disclosure of the reason for his choice to
move to Dubai only a few months after leaving his commentary position at TNT Sports
.

The ex-Manchester United and England defender revealed in May that he was
going their separate way from the network after the conclusion of the previous season
to concentrate on his commercial ventures.

Ferdinand, who spent 10 years at TNT Sports (formerly called BT Sport), has chosen to move his family to the United Arab Emirates, even though his 19-year-old son Lorenz has signed his initial professional deal with
Brighton
in July.

“There isn’t a single explanation,” Ferdinand said.

And I hadn’t visited properly for around seven or eight years. I used to go there frequently before.

We spent time with some of Kate’s friends who were living there, and I got to see another aspect of it. I also run a business over there called Football Escapes.

In Dubai, people seem appreciated, and their way of living contributes to them being content and lively, filled with positive energy for children. The lifestyle, security, climate, and the opportunity for a fresh start.

I was looking for a fresh start, and I’ve been involved with TNT (TV) ever since retiring over the past 10-11 years. When I decided, I thought ‘this should be 30 years where my life revolves around the schedule.’ That’s not the case anymore. I’m still connected to football, but it’s no longer the main force shaping my life. To be truthful, it feels good.

The

The legend later acknowledged that his decision was largely driven by the importance of his children’s schooling.

Rio
raises four-year-old Cree and two-year-old Shae along with his wife Kate, who is also the stepmother of his three teenagers—Lorenz, Tate (age 17), and Tia (age 14)—from his earlier relationship with Rebecca Ellison, who sadly died in 2015.

“I considered relocating, but then we returned in February for a brief visit to the schools just in case, and it sparked my thoughts about it,” he said.

That was nearly like a major boost for me since the educational system seemed different, improved for my children. The students arriving are 14, which is ideal as they begin their two-year GCSE program this August.

Then we have a four-year-old and a two-year-old, making it ideal timing for them too. The syllabus follows an English curriculum, but it’s delivered in a different manner. I
sense that educators in the UK sometimes feel somewhat undervalued and undercompensated.
