Lawmakers from Rivers State, with Speaker Martins Amaewhule leading the delegation, have left Nigeria for a visit to the United Kingdom.

A statement from Martins Wachukwu, the Special Assistant on Media for Amaewhule, verified that the legislators have departed the nation’s borders.

It was reported that Amaewhule officially opened the 10th Rivers Assembly Legislative Tour of the United Kingdom on Friday.

He asserted that the legislative trip would enable the House to gain knowledge from experiences beyond Nigeriaโ€™s borders, enhancing the capabilities of its members for future responsibilities.

The inauguration event, marking the beginning of a five-day itinerary, occurred in Central London and centered around the topic “Legislative Dynamics in Presidential and Parliamentary Systems.”

Key officials and participants from the House, addressing the gathering during the inaugural event, conveyed their hopefulness that this visit will offer yet another chance for mutual evaluation and valuable perspectives to enhance legislative monitoring.
