Panthers Extend Deal with Safety Nick Scott

The
Carolina Panthers
are maintaining a crucial backup element.

As initially reported by ESPN senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Saturday afternoon, the Panthers have
agreed to terms
with safety Nick Scott on a one-year contract. Earlier today, Joe Person reported
The Athletic
indicated that Carolina was
seeking to bring back
the 29-year-old defensive back.

In 2019, Scott joined the league as a seventh-round draft choice for the Los Angeles Rams. That’s when he initially met Ejiro Evero, now the defensive coordinator for the Panthers, who was functioning as the safeties coach with the Rams back then.

The Panthers first
signed
Scott on March 22, 2024, exactly one year from when he signed his new deal. During the recent season, he played in 10 matches (with four starts), amassing a total of 30 tackles and deflecting two passes.

Before Scott came back, the Panthers only had two safeties under contract for 2025—Tre’von Moehrig and Demani Richardson.
