Pakistan, April 9 — The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sealed two LPG manufacturing units near Lahore for serious safety violations. This decision followed joint safety inspections carried out in March 2025 by OGRA in coordination with the local administration.

Officials from OGRA, together with local authorities, examined three establishments: Elite Metal Tek (Pvt.) Ltd., Hi-Tek Manufacturing (Pvt.) Ltd., and Unique Metal Engineering Services Ltd. During these inspections, several non-compliances were discovered, such as the production of over-sized LPG cylinders and inadequate safety measures. Additionally, unregistered cylinders without proper authorization from both the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Defence departments were present at these sites.

Due to the violations, OGRA shut down Hi-Tek Manufacturing and Unique Metal Engineering Services. The authority also cautioned that additional regulatory measures might involve revoking the licenses of these non-conforming facilities. OGRA remains dedicated to enforcing stringent actions against hazardous production methods.

OGRA restated its commitment to a strict zero-tolerance approach towards safety breaches. Additionally, they declared that unannounced national inspections will persist as a means of upholding safety protocols and verifying adherence to regulatory requirements at LPG production sites.
