The manager of Fenerbahçe, José Mourinho, has received a suspension of three games along with a fine of approximately £6,000 ($7,734.00). This penalty follows his actions during an Istanbul derby when he grabbed the nose of Galatasaray’s coach, Okan Buruk; this was reported by the Turkish Football Federation on Saturday.

The event took place after the conclusion of the Turkish Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday, where Mourinho’s team suffered a defeat with a score of 2-1 at their home ground.

A large brawl erupted involving players from both teams. The referee sent three individuals off, including two from Galatasaray. Following the match’s conclusion, the 62-year-old Portuguese coach apparently tweaked Buruk’s nose, causing him to collapse theatrically onto the field.

“Mourinho will be prohibited from accessing the dressing room and the bench for three official games,” stated the TFF in an announcement.

Mourinho won’t be present for the matches against Trabzonspor, Sivasspor, and Kayserispor.

Fenerbahce sit in second place in the Super Lig, lagging behind Galatasaray by six points but having played one less match.
