Nabil Al-Kharazi from Morocco has claimed the first-place position, while compatriot Ayoub Allam took third place in the 8th iteration of the Katara Prize for Quran Recitation. The Katar Cultural Village Foundation in Doha made this announcement on Thursday.

Second place was bestowed upon Egyptian participant Mahmoud Kamal-Eddine Mahmoud Mohammed, with the fourth and fifth positions going to Mohamed Ali Faroughi of Afghanistan and Ahmed Mohamed Mohamed Ali Essaid from Egypt, as stated in a communiquรฉ issued by the Foundation.

In the press statement, 24-year-old Nabil Al-Kharazi, who studies Islamic jurisprudence (Sharia), shared his delight at being honored with this recognition, noting the unusually fierce competition in this particular round. He also seized the moment to convey his appreciation to his parents for their consistent backing during his academic journey.

Ayoub Allam, a 31-year-old Quran instructor from Salรฉ who secured third place in this renowned contest, highlighted that this accomplishment greatly encourages him to intensify his endeavors in coaching Quranic recitation and memorization.

Introduced in 2017, the Katara Prize for Quran Recitation seeks to identify and promote exceptional abilities in Quranic recitation.
