In Pakistan, on April 10, actress Mawra Hocane expressed her thoughts regarding the controversy in India surrounding Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood through his film ‘Abhir Gulal.’

Khan is poised to make his comeback to the Hindi film industry after a hiatus of six years in a romantic drama opposite Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor.

Directed by Aarti S Bagdi, ‘Abir Gulal’ is set to release in cinemas on May 9th.

In addition to Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, the movie features Riddhi Dogra, Lisa Haydon, Soni Razdan, Farida Jalal, and Parmeet Sethi.

After the film was announced, certain political organizations in India called for a boycott due to their opposition to the resurgence of Pakistani performers in the Bollywood movie scene.

In the face of criticism, Mawra Hocane has supported Fawad Khanโ€™s performance and stated that โ€˜Abbir Gullalโ€™ is expected to perform well at the box office.

In a recent interview with an Indian news organization, the Pakistani actor addressed concerns regarding opposition faced by artists from Pakistan in India.

She replied, “It doesnโ€™t bother me personally; this is just lifeโ€™s way of operating. I genuinely think that if something needs to occur, it eventually will. I try to ignore all the distractions surrounding my work. The job itself brings me joy, so external factors donโ€™t influence me much. While unfortunate, itโ€™s really up to the producer to handle those issuesโ€”it becomes their responsibility. Should I dwell too much on uncertainties like โ€˜What might transpire?โ€™ then Iโ€™d constantly feel uneasy.”

Mawra Hocane shared making a phone call to Fawad Khan, stating, “Whenever our peers achieve success, we naturally connect with one another. We extend our congratulations. My sincere wishes go out to everybody. I genuinely hope this movie performs exceptionally well.”

It should be mentioned that Khan has appeared in successful Bollywood movies like ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,’ ‘Khoobsurat,’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons.’
