On April 2, Nepal’s Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak instructed the police to boost security measures around media organizations.

During a gathering conducted on Wednesday, Home Minister Lekhak directed the law enforcement agencies to step up the protection measures for media organizations.

On March 28, during a pro-monarchy demonstration in Tinkune, Kathmandu, media outlets’ offices faced vandalism as well. This event led to the fatalities of Sabin Maharjan, aged 29 from Kirtipur, and journalist Suresh Rajak.
