On April 9, Pakistan — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has called upon model and actress Nadia Hussain for interrogation following her husband’s arrest, Atif Mohammad Khan, who stands accused of misappropriating funds. During their investigation, authorities found that Hussain’s beauty parlor received Rs26.418 million within the timeframe corresponding to Khan’s suspected financial misconduct at his firm. Khan was taken into custody on March 8th related to allegations of siphoning off Rs540 million from Al-Falah Securities where he served as chief executive officer.

The FIA’s inquiry found that between February 2016 and December 2023, Khan moved Rs1.429 billion from Al-Falah Securities’ accounts into his personal account. Although part of these funds was later refunded, the FIA alleges that Khan misappropriated Rs107.185 million and incurred trading losses, which increased his total liability to the firm to Rs539 million. Hussain has been instructed to present himself at the FIA office on April 14 to submit documentation defending him against allegations related to the funds.

Furthermore, Hussain is undergoing scrutiny under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) after she alleged on social media that someone pretending to be an FIA officer attempted to solicit money from her. In her posts, which included videos, Hussain accused the impostor of requesting Rs30 million as ransom for her husband’s release. The FIA validated the presence of this scammer and urged Hussain to inform them about the matter at their Cyber Crime Reporting Center.

Even though Hussain alleges extortion, their social media postings have resulted in an FIA investigation into them for lodging unsubstantiated claims. They have been cautioned that disseminating false charges against agency personnel constitutes a criminal offense.
