is relocating thousands of Russians into the seized Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, an action that some have compared to ‘ethnic cleansing’.

On Saturday, March 29, Russian forces seized control of two villages located in eastern and southern Ukraine. This came as they continued their advancement into Ukrainian territories despite faltering attempts at securing a cease-fire by U.S. President Joe Biden.

‘forces seized control of the villages of Shchebraki in the southern part of the Zaporizhzhia region and Panteleimonivka in the eastern section of the Donetsk region.

In order to secure lasting control over the area, hundreds of thousands of Russians have been relocated to these regions.

This has caused some people to refer to the action as ‘ethnic cleansing.’

A woman living in Berdyansk, a port town in the Zaporizhzhia region, where unarmed troops frequently pass through, shared her experience with this.
The Times
how this region has started to be inhabited by the newcomers.

The individual, aged 52, chose to stay unnamed and stated: “As many of the inhabitants have moved away and there arenโ€™t enough people to operate government-run businesses, the town is starting to get filled with Russian settlers.”

People who have relocated to the area claim they’ve received higher wages, with the assurance that these incentives would help populate houses left vacant by escaping Ukrainians.

A different unnamed woman living there mentioned: “On occasion, the military officials come to homes and flats claiming they’re searching for someone suspected of wrongdoing. They use this as an excuse to observe and record who remains inside versus those who have vacated, essentially taking stock of which residences stand unoccupied.”

‘ numerous inhabitants who departed are now without their houses and enterprises.’

He said four people were killed in Dnipro, where a strike hit a hotel complex, and 21 others were injured, including a pregnant woman.

President Zelensky stated: “Russia is undermining global peacekeeping initiatives. By prolonging the conflict and instilling fear, it demonstrates that it hasnโ€™t encountered genuine consequences.”

Regional Governor Oleg Sinegubov stated that the attacks on Ukraine’s northern Kharkiv area resulted in one death and injured 14 individuals.

Over the past few weeks, Donald Trump has been trying to negotiate a truce involving the Black Sea region as well as attacks aimed at energy facilities within both countries.

Although both nations consented to the ceasefires theoretically, their execution still seems uncertain. Kiev and Moscow continue to blame one another for attempting to sabotage these agreements.
