Blizzard is providing updates to showcase aspects of player housing, and the options presented seem far more versatile than anticipated.

Blizzard released a blog entry featuring numerous in-game video demonstrations illustrating how furnishings can be arranged. These demo clips showcase furniture being set onto a grid layout, offering an auto-align feature. Additionally, the system enables positioning bigger elements such as bookcases or dining tables, which come with accompanying small accessories and trinkets that adjust alongside their main piece. According to the blog post, “This write-up solely concentrates on interior decorating mechanisms within a solitary space,” indicating that these examples represent but a portion of whatโ€™s available. Blizzard further clarifies that this development remains ongoing, and thus, all user interfaces depicted may still undergo modifications.

Simple mode offers a fast and effortless method to arrange your space, but if you’re looking to get creative with your furnishingsโ€”like experimenting with item clipping and rotation along all three axesโ€”you can switch to Advanced mode. In this enhanced setting, skilled designers have the opportunity to craft personalized living spaces by precisely clipping and rotating objects to build intricate setups.

It seems that players will get the ability to adjust object sizes as well, which is excellent given the variety of player models available. For example, a gnome would likely prefer more compact living spaces compared to a large Tauren. Additionally, Blizzard demonstrated an option for changing the color of certain furniture pieces designed for player homes. Itโ€™s worth noting that this feature might not apply to items sourced from earlier game assets.

Although this blog article concentrated on interior design, Blizzard emphasizes that the exterior of a house won’t influence the internal layout. “Whether you prefer a grand estate externally with only one room internally or a small cottage outwardly yet packed with numerous chambers within, go ahead,” states the blog entry. It further admits that several topics remain unexplored, but they’re eager to reveal additional details soon.

I’m looking forward to getting an initial glimpse of the player housing system, and curious about whether I’ll have the option to pick my settlement locationโ€”ideally, I’d love to claim some space in the Grizzly Hills for a serene atmosphere.
