lookalike has survived his first six months as a soldier on the front line.

After more than half a year of serving in the military, he says that the conflict has aided him in getting fit because of the sparse army provisions.

Roman Burtsev, aged 42, secured modeling jobs portraying the Hollywood celebrity, who is 50 years old, only for the profitable assignments to dwindle subsequently.

The double first felt the impact of the pandemic after gaining significant weight to effectively portray DiCaprio.

Instead, he had to work odd jobs at a market and a hardware store, yet he still struggled financially.

However, Burtsev now claims that he has shed over 44 pounds since last October when he entered the conflict at a weight of 196 pounds.

He hasn’t revealed his whereabouts but mentions that he intends to return home by September.



Up until now, he has managed to escape the destiny shared by hundreds of thousands of Russians who were sent to fight for Putin’s warโ€”returning home in caskets from the frontline where they were treated as expendable.

By signing a contract and undergoing training, he qualified for a ยฃ16,000 payment, followed by ยฃ1,625 a month while he remains alive on the front line.

If he dies, his family might be eligible for up to ยฃ99,000.

Previously, he worked as an IT specialist.



The weight problem began in 2016 when he commenced replicating DiCaprio, even with his additional mass.

He had wished that his job as an impersonator would grant him celebrity status, wealth – along with a spouse and kids.

However, prior to engaging in warfare, the solitary Russian Depp resided with his parents along with their feline companion in a government-rented apartment located in Podolsk, not far from Moscow.
