U.S. Forces Conduct Strike Targeting ISIS-Somalia, AFRICOM Confirms

On March 27, 2025 (ENA)—The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), working alongside the federal government of Somalia, carried out several airstrikes targeting ISIS-Somalia on March 25, 2025.

The airstrikes took place near the Golis Mountains in Somalia.

The preliminary evaluation by AFRICOM indicates that several ISIS-Somalia militants were reportedly killed with no reported civilian casualties.

ISIS-Somalia has demonstrated both its determination and ability to strike U.S. and allied forces.

AFRICOM declared that this group’s harmful activities pose a threat to U.S. security interests.

U.S. Africa Command, alongside the Federal Government of Somalia and Somali Armed Forces, continues to take action to degrade ISIS-Somalia’s ability to plan and conduct attacks that threaten the U.S. homeland, our forces, and our civilians abroad, accoridning to Command.

It was mentioned that specific operational details will remain undisclosed to maintain ongoing security measures.
