President Bola Tinubu has ordered security forces to track down and arrest those responsible for the latest deadly assault in Plateau State communities, where more than 50 individuals lost their lives.

Acknowledging that the senseless assault deeply troubled him, President Tinubu vowed that the attackers would be captured and subjected to stringent legal penalties.

He encouraged individuals from the impacted areas to work together with law enforcement and security organizations by sharing details that could help apprehend those responsible and protect their neighborhoods.

In a statement released on Saturday by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President conveyed his sympathy to the relatives of the deceased individuals in Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai areas within the Bokkos Local Government area. He also expressed condolences to people from Manguna and Dafo villages who suffered due to vicious assaults carried out by armed attackers, which led to fatalities and property damage.

President Tinubu expressed condolences to the Government of Plateau State and Governor Caleb Mutfwang, pledging his backing to help bring an end to the rampant violence occurring in the region.

He instructed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with state officials in offering essential assistance to the victims and delivering prompt aid to the impacted communities as well as those injured in the assaults.

The statement indicated that NEMA would collaborate closely with the state to guarantee that impacted communities can reconstruct and recuperate.

The President said, “I am deeply troubled by reports of yet another brutal assault carried out by senseless criminals within the communities of Plateau State. Such recent acts against innocent people are completely intolerable. I have instructed law enforcement bodies to track down these assailants, who will be met with harsh consequences upon capture. These recurrent incidents must not persist as Nigeria strives to reinstate stability and governance across all regions. Despite this regrettable event, which shall neither discourage nor diminish our efforts, we remain committed to safeguarding every single one of our nationโ€™s citizens. On the contrary, such occurrences only strengthen our resolve to root out malevolent elements hiding anywhere throughout our land.”
