However, we’re completely obsessed with it.

There are custom bikes out there that make perfect sense—purpose-built machines designed for a specific job. And then there are bikes like this: a supercharged,
400-horsepower Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR
That has absolutely no reason to be around.

And still, we find ourselves in this situation.

Let’s begin with the basic bicycle. The
Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR
It’s already incredibly powerful. After spending considerable time with it, I was so impressed that I thought about purchasing one for myself. This bike stands out as the peak of performance within Triumph’s range, featuring a 1,160cc inline-three engine delivering 177 horsepower. It’s swift, precise, and among the finest examples of refinement in British sports motorcycles. Yet, what could possibly drive someone to fit a supercharger onto this beast, boosting its output to an outrageous 400 horsepower?

Enter
Thornton Hundred Motorcycles
, a UK-based store known for crafting top-tier, unrestricted bespoke motorcycles. Upon seeing the Speed Triple RR, they immediately envisioned adding an extra feature: making it capable of intimidating fighter pilots. This led to their wildly audacious build, which includes a Rotrax C30 supercharger, a specially made billet swingarm extending 180mm beyond standard length, along with a five-liter methanol reservoir incorporated within the swingarm serving as part of the water/methanol injection setup.

Exactly—that thing operates on a mix of fuel and sheer madness.

It kind of resembles a life-size replica of a Lego Technic set.

Next up is the design aspect. With an impressive 400 horsepower output, this model adds even more allure with its complete carbon fiber body panels, adjustable aerodynamic features, and ultra-lightweight carbon rims. Its aggressive look mirrors that of a MotoGP racer, but unlike those racers, this one complies with road regulations. That said, taking it out for a spin might not be ideal unless you enjoy experiencing your entire existence whizzing past in rapid succession as you defy speed limits.

Then, who would desire such a thing? It’s someone who disregards logic with a laugh. When they see an exquisitely crafted sports bike, their first thought is: Give me more power. More velocity…and greater risk.

A longer swingarm stops you from being flung away uncontrollably when you unleash all 400 horsepower.

Someone decided it would be a good idea to slap a supercharger onto this 1,200cc triple.

And the best part? This bike can be yours. Thornton Hundred is selling it for £55,000, which translates to around $70,000 USD. That’s a lot of money, but when you consider the level of engineering, the sheer madness of the build, and the bragging rights that come with owning a one-of-a-kind 400-horsepower supercharged drift bike, the price almost starts to make sense.
Almost
.

At the end of the day, this bike exists for one reason and one reason only: because it can. There’s no logical explanation for it, no real-world justification, and certainly no sane argument for why anyone should ride it. And yet, I’m glad it exists. Because motorcycles—at their core—aren’t about logic. They’re about passion, about pushing boundaries, about creating something that makes people stop and say,
What the actual hell
?

In that respect, this enhanced Speed Triple RR is ideal.
