Somoco Ghana Limited’s management recently handed over various gifts to the Ga Traditional Council, marking their involvement in this year’s Ga Homowo Festival festivities.

The contributions comprised 5 Boxer 125X model motorcycles worth GHยข100,000, a variety of drinks including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, cases of bottled water, and monetary funds. Among the gifts were also two Bruhm UHD Smart OS LED televisions provided by Somotex Ghana Limited.

The event took place at the Ga Mantse Palace in Accra on Monday, August 12, 2025, and was presented by Nii Ayi Hyde, Country Director of the Mohinani Group and Managing Director of Somoco Ghana Ltd.

Expressing gratitude via a translator, Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II thanked the delegation for their kind donation. Nevertheless, the tribal chief urged Nii Ayi Hyde and his group to visit the palace more often, highlighting that business assistance towards the growth of the Ga State must go beyond just the Homowo celebrations.

“The Homowo celebrations must not be the sole occasion for corporate organizations to support the growth initiatives of the Ga Region,” said the Ga Mantse.

Somoco Ghana Limited holds exclusive rights to distribute Boxer motorcycles and Bajaj RE auto-rickshaws within Ghana. The firm is part of the renowned Mohinani Group, a top-tier business organization in Ghana, which also includes subsidiaries like Somotex Ghana Limited.

The Homowo Festival, a yearly event honoring the harvest season and expressing gratitude, stands as one of the key cultural celebrations in the Greater Accra Area.
