On April 9, Nepal authorities reported that an armed police force unit retrieved the remains of two brothers from the Narayani River on Tuesday night after they had gone missing earlier that day.

The police stated that 13-year-old Dikshya Serpunja and her 9-year-old brother Swapnil Serpunja from Gaindakot Municipality-1 went to the riverside to fetch their grandmotherโ€™s footwear and unfortunately drowned at approximately 5:30 pm.

Led by APF Assistant Inspector Bhup Bahadur Badathoki from the 17th battalion of the APF stationed in Chitwan, a rescue team recovered Swapnilโ€™s remains at a depth of 35 feet and Dikshaโ€™s at 50 feet.

They were found on Wednesday.
