Sindhu, ranked 17th in the women’s singles badminton standings, secured an easy victory with scores of 21-15 and 21-19 over Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo from Indonesia, who is placed at number 36 globally. The game spanned 44 minutes according to Olympics.com.

Lakshya Sen
was eliminated in the opening round following a straight-sets loss to world No. 14 Lee Chia-hao from Chinese Taipei.

The initial match was a closely contested battle.

faced off against Lee Chia-hao, when the scoreboard showed 18-18 for a moment, until the player from Chinese Taipei secured three consecutive points to take the first game.

The second match was somewhat more uneven as

found it difficult to keep up with Lee Chia-hao and ultimately lost the game with scores of 21-18, 21-10. This marked Lakshya’s second consecutive loss to Lee Chia-hao.

In the remaining men’s singles games,
HS Prannoy
fought hard but ultimately failed to prevent loss against China’s Lu Guangzu.

HS Prannoy
, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist, was beaten 21-16, 12-21, 21-11 for his fourth first-round exit in six tournaments this year.

In contrast, Kiran George moved forward to the second round of the competition.
Badminton
The Asia Championships saw a decisive victory with a score of 21-16, 21-8 against Dmitriy Panarin from Kazakhstan.

Priyanshu Rajawat also advanced after a 20-22, 21-12, 21-10 comeback win over Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen.

In the meantime, world-ranked 49th player Aakarshi Kashyap faced a loss with a score of 21-13, 21-7 against Chinaโ€™s third-place Han Yue in women’s singles badminton. The game was completed within 31 minutes.

Anupama Upadhyaya also suffered defeat with scores of 21-13, 21-14 against ex-world champion Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand.

Malvika Bansod, ranked 22nd in the women’s singles standings, suffered defeat at the hands of world No. 15 Gao Fang Jie. The Chinese player triumphed with scores of 21-14, 21-8, showcasing her prowess as an Asian Games silver medalist.

In the men’s doubles, Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi advanced to the next round.
Badminton
At the Asia Championships, they secured victory with a score of 21-3, 21-12 against Sri Lanka’s duo Madhuka Dulanjana and Lahiru Weerasinghe.

Nevertheless, Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Sai Pratheek K were eliminated in the first round following their defeat with scores of 21-19, 21-12 against Taiwan’s Chiu Hsiang-chieh and Wang Chi-lin.
