The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Ltd along with Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited have provided vehicles such as a specialized ambulance to bolster security and healthcare services in Lagos State as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Recently, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund acquired two new vehicles, and an intensive care unit ambulance was also provided to the Federal Medical Centre in Ebute Metta.

At the ceremony for handing over the security vehicles, SNEPCoโ€™s Country Security Manager, Isaac Akinjogunlaโ€”who stood in for the Managing Director, Ronald Adamsโ€”stated that this act “reinforces our commitment to supporting initiatives led by the Lagos State Government aimed at ensuring safety within the state.”

He emphasized the importance of using the vehicles cautiously and maintaining them properly to ensure that the community members can enjoy the benefits of this donation.

Oluwaseyi Omotowa, who serves as the Chief Upstream Investment Officer at NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, stated during an address delivered by Mrs Bunmi Lawson, the Deputy Manager of External Relations: “These vehicles will enhance the operational capabilities of security forces, thereby fostering a more secure living space for everyone. Our contribution aligns with our continuous efforts in supporting education and health services within the region, showcasing our comprehensive strategy towards societal investments.”

Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, expressed gratitude to NNPC-SNEPCo for their contribution, stating: “Collectively, we can strive for an environment that ensures business prosperity and the safety of our families.”

In 2020, NNPC-SNEPCo contributed 16 vehicles to enhance security measures in Lagos.

The specialized ambulance was presented to the Federal Medical Centre in Ebute Metta on behalf of the SNEPCo Managing Director by the Safety and Environment Manager, David Aghaiyo. He stated that this ambulance enhances the overall healthcare system in the area by ensuring prompt transport and medical assistance.

Dr. Adedamola Dada, who serves both as the medical director and chief executive officer at the medical center, referred to the donated ambulance as a “fulfilled prayer.” He explained that this contribution will greatly assist the facility in managing the high volume of patients needing these services.

“The social investment fund managed by NNPC-SNEPCo, with contributions from partners like Total Energies, Exxon, and Nigerian Agip Exploration, focuses on transformative programs such as scholarships, building new schools equipped with information communication technology centers and digital libraries, healthcare services, along with vocational training and mentoring through the Shell LiveWIRE initiative,” stated the joint venture in an official release.
