– The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has guaranteed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s apparently stringent reforms and policies will ultimately produce beneficial outcomes for everyone, emphasizing that improving the well-being of Nigerians remains his top concern.

Dabiri-Erewa provided this commitment during separate gatherings in London with Kate Airey, the head of the UK’s West Africa department, and Florence Eshalomi, a Member of Parliament in the UK who has been designated as the new trade envoy to Nigeria. Additionally, these assurances were made at the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS).

The Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, stated on Wednesday that during the meeting with Dabiri Erewa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Ambassador Kate Ailey highlighted the significance of the UK diaspora community and emphasized the necessity for enhanced collaboration between both nations.

She showed her readiness to work alongside NIDCOM in every aspect within the commission’s jurisdiction to aid further national progress.

Impressed by the Commission’s efforts so far, Ailey commended Nigerians living abroad for their contributions and achievements in development within both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

During her participation in the meeting with Florence Eshalomi (MP), they discussed ways to enhance the commercial ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

I’m thrilled to have been named the UK’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria.

“I’m eager to build upon the United Kingdom’s relationship with Nigeria, aiming to foster mutual prosperity and uncover new opportunities for both nations,” stated Eshalomi.

Similarly, during the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) in the UK, Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians abroad to keep portraying their country positively and draw investment opportunities. She referred to these individuals as Nigeria’s top ambassadors.

She praised Chief Bimbo Afolayan, the organizer of the Summit, for her dedication over the years in fostering trade and investments in Nigeria, and encouraged others to follow suit.

She brought up the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), scheduled for November 11-13 in Abuja, encouraging them to promote investment in their homeland.
