Kathmandu, August 26 — On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) rose slightly by 4.83 points, ending at 2,766.09 points, reflecting an increase of 0.17% from the prior day.

Although there was a small increase, the total market volume decreased to Rs4.18 billion, compared to Rs5.75 billion reported on Monday. In all, 9.24 million shares were exchanged through 45,116 deals.

As per the stock market, the share prices of 101 companies went up, whereas 149 fell. Even though more businesses reported declines, increases in major sector indices pushed the main index higher.

Among the 13 trade sub-sectors, investment, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, and non-life insurance experienced drops. The rest of the sub-indexes finished in the green, contributing to a slight rise in the overall market.
