In 2016, the affluent Elon Musk established
The Boring Company
, a firm specializing in tunnel design. Ever since, issues have continued to escalate. The most recent inquiries conducted by the press have revealed further developments.

won’t alter the circumstances. Amid horrific work environments and utterly lacking safeguards, pandemonium prevails within these so-called “tomb passages.”

The inquiry centered around the drilling of a passage linking two casinos in Las Vegas (located in the western part of the U.S.).
The working conditions for the employees involved in this huge undertaking are deemed utterly terrible. It’s nearly astounding that nobody has died so far,

Every day, workers must clear massive quantities of chemically contaminated sludge, which poses significant health risks. No one within the unfinished tunnel is protected from hazards like splashes onto their faces, arms, and even into their clothes.

In reports, these highly toxic chemicals function as catalysts to enhance the effectiveness of the sealants meant to safeguard concrete structures against cracking and further degradation. When these substances come into contact with human skin, particularly without proper protective gear, they can lead to severe burns. Ensuring employee safety is not considered important at all.

An uncontrollable project

So far, no deaths have been reported… However, according to

According to OSHA, the U.S. federal agency responsible for workplace health and safety, many workers have barely evaded disaster, with hazardous substances like chemical sludge not being the sole peril in those dim and moist environments. For instance, during the summer of 2023, two tons of concrete rubble almost buried an intern.

Additionally, they identified eight significant breaches of labor regulations. As the initiative advances, authorities are becoming increasingly worried about the well-being of the employees forced to work rapidly in harsh environments.

None of these factors deter Elon Musk from aiming to finish the construction as swiftly as possible.
