Spain, Portugal, and Morocco have declared their intention to submit a joint bid to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
announcement
was created on Friday by Rafael Louzรกn, who serves as the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

“What better way to showcase women’s sports than by hosting the planetโ€™s largest sporting event, a FIFA Women’s World Cup? This is precisely what we are striving for,” Louzรกn stated during the unveiling of an Equality Observatory at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid.

If successful, this bid would echo the arrangement for the 2030 Men’s World Cup, which has already been designated for the same trio of nations. This iteration holds special importance because Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will have the honor of hosting the inaugural games involving their national squads.

The announcement was met with enthusiasm by Montse Tomรฉ, who coaches the Spanish women’s team. “I have only recently heard this news, but it would bring immense happiness to Spain if we were chosen as the host nation for the Women’s World Cup,” she stated during a press briefing.

Tomรฉ highlighted the significant effect on women’s soccer: “During my time at the 2019 World Cup in France, there was substantially more conversation surrounding our squad in Spain. Following our triumph in New Zealand, womenโ€™s soccer has received renewed energy. The thought of what we might accomplish regarding exposure by organizing a World Cup is astounding.”

This collaborative effort among the trio of nations is designed to advance women’s soccer and might serve as a pivotal moment for its growth across Europe and Africa.
