After going big, what next? Bigger!

When you take on numerous DIY projects, you often end up with plenty of leftover components. In such cases, you have essentially three options: keep these pieces forever, find another person who needs them and sell off your extras, or brainstorm fresh ideas for utilizing what you’ve accumulated. Of course, discarding them outright is an option as well; however, doing so would make you seem rather heartlessโ€”wouldnโ€™t it?

The folks at Grind Hard Plumbing Co have tackled numerous projects over the years, amassing plenty of extra components that can be repurposed and refreshed for new constructions. Given that your crew was responsible for building the Monster Chopper, what could possibly come next for you all?

Sure, you create something even more substantial.

enormous. Friends, how on earth do you start with this three-wheeler?

Itโ€™s all about perspective; those back tires are identical to what was used on the Monster Chopper project. For the front wheel, theyโ€™ve opted for an enormous tractor tire, with GHPC coming up with a fantastic concept: turning it into a hubless design where the driver sits within the tire itself during operation. It sounds incredibly innovative yet somewhat nerve-wracking, at least from my point of view.

Theyโ€™re employing a BMW engine and gearbox, along with certain components from a Humvee, and naturally, theyโ€™re doing extensive custom work to bring their concept to life. The first major task is crafting a hub-less design for the front tractor wheel, which requires plenty of plasma cutting and integrating around 24 inline skate wheels into the setup.

Itโ€™s uncertain what type of suspension this contraption will feature, or how comfy itโ€™ll feel during the journey after completion. Additionally, Iโ€™m curious about where one would place their feet when seated within the tire while moving. However, I assume theyโ€™ve got some surprises lined up for that aspect too. So undoubtedly, weโ€™ll stay tuned as this project unfolds over time.

Would you enjoy riding inside a massive tractor wheel like this, or would it make you instantly queasy? Do share your thoughts in the comments section.
