In an open-and-honest video shared on his YouTube account, the head of Marlian Music mentioned that he was not present in Nigeria during the NDLEA event.

He stated that he was in Sweden at the time police raided his associates’ locations, arresting Zinoleesky, Subomi, and ultimately Mohbad.

He described how Mohbad engaged in a fight with NDLEA officers prior to his arrest.

He stated:

On February 24, 2022, an event involving the NDLEA occurred. I was in Sweden at that time. Zino and Subomi were taken away. Later, Mohbad joined them, got into a fight with the officers, and was also taken along.

The artist stated that following Mohbad’s release, he went live on Instagram, reportedly under pressure, amid a panic episode.

This was when Mohbad alleged that he and others were putting his life at risk.

Naira Marley added that upon returning to Nigeria, he went to visit Mohbad at the hospital. He stated that Mohbad’s conduct drew attention.

He stated:

At the hospital, I encountered Wunmi, Adura, and Bode, who is Mohbad’s relative. Later, I learned that Wunmi was the final individual in the room with him prior to his exit and subsequent livestream.

Marley claimed that when he asked Wunmi about the incident, she was confused and unable to make sense, while those around her indicated she had been with Mohbad just prior to his sudden episode. Although tensions were high, Marley stated he paid for Mohbad’s medical expenses, medicines, and CT scan.

Focusing on financial issues, Marley denied allegations that he took advantage of the deceased rapper monetarily.

He stated that he directly advised Mohbad to establish a bank account under his own name, instead of using one connected to his spouse’s family.

The rapper stressed:

When Mohbad came to my house, I informed him that I felt uneasy about transferring funds to the Olajumoke account. On July 28, 2021, he provided me with his individual bank details. The agreement went smoothly, with all matters split evenly between us. I never deceived him.
