A previous worker from one of Australiaโ€™s leading law firms has been handed over to the authorities following a harsh email sent company-wide that criticized its high-ranking officials as ‘ineffective’ and ‘idle.’

Slater + Gordon stated they had ‘substantial reason’ to believe that the ex-employee, who knew about the companyโ€™s security measures and had past authorization to handle specific information, might be involved. This announcement came in a press release on Tuesday.

The message, addressed to all 900 employees at the company, was distributed via email.

examined the character defects of the organization’s top executives, specifically mentioning who was deemed ‘unfaithful,’ ‘incompetent,’ ‘chatty behind others’ backs,’ and ‘sluggish.’

During the companyโ€™s initial significant update since the email communications on February 21st, Chief Executive Dina Tutungi stated on Tuesday that the organization has handed over the findings from their forensic probe to the Victoria Police.

Following an urgent gathering inside the company aimed at deciding if the email was dispatched by ex-employees alone or possibly by a mix of present and past workers, the probe was set into motion.

Ms Tutungi reassured her team that no client data was compromised via the ‘malicious’ email, stating that it has since been handed over to law enforcement authorities.

The forensic probe revealed that at least ten similar emails were dispatched within a span of 16 minutes starting from 9:41 am on Friday, February 21st. This seemed to be an attempt to bypass the companyโ€™s IT security measures.

Slater + Gordon stated they thought that Mari Ruiz-Matthysen, who used to be the firmโ€™s chief people officer and whose name was linked to the emails, was not accountable for what happened.

The company stated that the email, which was critical, included ‘a variety of inaccurate and deceptive statements.’

More to come.
