Renowned Hong Kong performer Lee Lung Kei, aged 75, has refuted speculation about an end to his engagement with his partner Chris Wong, who is 38 years old, stating that they continue to be dedicated to their upcoming wedding.

Rumors about their separation emerged on Thursday, with suggestions that Lee failed to fulfill his commitment to officially register their marriage right after Wong was released from jail on July 7, leading her to gradually pull away, according to St Headline.

The experienced TVB performer rejected the allegations as untrue, stating that both he and Wong choose to lead a quiet life and stay away from the spotlight. He mentioned that Wong wishes to be overlooked by everyone, which is why they restrict their presence in public. Additionally, she asked him not to discuss their personal life extensively, something he affirmed he honors.

Wong is now staying with her parents in mainland China, whereas Lee lives in Hong Kong. He has recently traveled to Canada and the United States for his job, but she hasn’t joined him.

“and she truly desires the same,” he stated.

Our commitment to follow the same journey remains strong, and nothing can hinder our affection.

Wong, an individual from mainland China, was detained in February 2024 due to exceeding the duration of her Hong Kong tourism visa. Her legal issues intensified in May 2024 after it came to light that she had submitted fake U.S. aviation university degree documents as part of her application through Hong Kong’s Mainland Talent and Professional Program.

In June 2024, she received a prison term for committing five violations, such as falsifying documents and providing inaccurate details. Wong admitted her guilt and agreed to serve her punishment.

Nevertheless, Lee and Wong continue to be optimistic regarding their shared future.

It might be that the hardship and sorrow have come to an end,” Lee told the press. “Chris has gone through so much, but she’s currently joyful and in high spirits. I’ll continue to make her happy.

Lee, at 75, is most recognized for his performances in famous TVB series like “The Return of the Condor Heroes,” “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer,” “Journey to the West,” and “Forensic Heroes.” He has three grown-up kids from a past relationship in the 1970s, all of whom are elder than Wong.

The performer encountered Wong, who is 38 years old, in 2016. The pair originally intended to get married at the end of 2023 but delayed their ceremony after the passing of Wong’s father.

Lee has previously stated that his kids from his earlier marriage have appreciated Wong’s guidance and assistance. Throughout the years, he has tried to adjust more effectively to Wong’s way of living, such as modifying his speech, outlook, and adopting a healthier life by staying away from alcohol and smoking, he mentioned.
