Juventus
We have officially terminated the contract of head coach Thiago Motta after less than one season and swiftly secured his successor.

Motta, who is 42 years old, was formally notified of his termination by the clubโ€™s leadership on Sunday following a series of poor performances. He has now been succeeded by Igor Tudor.

Tudor, who previously managed until
Serie A
competitors Lazio, will assume command for the remainder of the season with
Champions League
qualifications are vital for deciding if his contract will be renewed. He will conduct his inaugural training session on Monday.

Juventus was eliminated from the Champions League as well as both the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana this season, and they recently faced a crushing 4-0 loss against title hopefuls Atalanta, marking their most significant home defeat since 1967.

Motta’s final game as manager ended up being the 3-0 defeat against eighth-place Fiorentina, a outcome that places Juventus in fifth position, just one point shy of the fourth spot.

Following the incident, Motta allegedly faced an uncomfortable exchange with director Cristiano Giuntoli during a lunch meeting on Tuesday, where he was informed that his selection for the position had caused disappointment.

The claim played a role in his dismissal.

It is believed that both Giuntoli and CEO Maurizio Scanavino were not satisfied with Motta’s responses during their direct discussion. This dissatisfaction led them to reconsider their stance following the initial support for the coach amid defeats against Atalanta and Fiorentina.

More to follow.
