The North Carolina Cultural Foundation stated that it will organize the “2025 Areumjigi Academy” from September 6 through 27 together with the Arumjigi organization.

The central topic of this academy, organized jointly with the NC Cultural Foundationโ€”dedicated to exploring artificial intelligence ethics and creative expressionโ€”is titled “Cultural Heritage in the AI Era: The Continuation of Past and Future Through Digitization.”

The Arumji Academy is an educational initiative focused on safeguarding and passing down traditional culture, with this yearโ€™s theme centered around exploring different areas where technology meets heritage. The academy includes two online keynote speeches and four in-person sessions.

Each Saturday in September, the NC Cultural Foundation will host lectures at their underground venue, Studio Black. The themes for these sessions include “Craft Incorporating Technology” (first session), “Interactive Heritage” (second session), “Our Living Culture Through Technology” (third session), and “Digital Restoration as an Alternative within Architectural Fields” (fourth session).

In the second-floor exhibition space of the NC Cultural Foundation, known as Studio White, a complimentary exhibit associated with the academy will take place. The event runs from September 6th through the 27th, open daily from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., with Mondays being non-operational days.

The initial part of the exhibition is titled “How can humanity carry forward its legacy through technology?” Under this theme, it includes interactive materials related to artifacts, technologies applied in conservation science, multimedia artistic imagery, 3D restorations and replicas, as well as a cultural heritage 3D information system known as HBIM (Historic/Heritage), which creates three-dimensional architectural plans.

The second part is titled “How has technology connected with our lives in the past and present?” Under this theme, LG Electronics will explore a sustainable way of living via its Future Home Appliance “Tiny” initiative, create artistic pieces utilizing industrial technology, and develop furniture and spatial designs that evoke traditional sensibilities.

At the same time, the NC Cultural Foundation is a nonprofit organization set up to conduct structured and ongoing corporate social responsibility initiatives, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of NCsoft’s establishment in 2012. It is implementing numerous social contribution programs designed to foster a dynamic and inclusive cultural environment that drives societal advancement.
