Several hours following Azeez Fashola, also recognized as Naira Marley, sharing a voice message revealing events involving him and Mohbad, an older audio recording from the deceased artist has emerged online.

Numerous supporters responded following Naira Marley’s remarks regarding Mohbad’s financial situation and his departure from his previous music label.

A voice message circulating online features Gabby, Naira Marley’s manager, conducting an interview with Mohbad.

In the video, the deceased musician stated that he was accumulating funds to purchase a vehicle and a home alongside Naira Marley.

Gabby questioned if Naira Marley had purchased a vehicle for him, but Mohbad refuted this, stating that he provided Naira Marley with N10 million, and his ex-record label manager added another N10 million.

He further explained that he intentionally avoided collecting specific performance fees from Naira Marley, ensuring the money was directed towards settling an extra N10 million that had been raised for him.

Mohbad further stated that he had been setting aside funds to purchase a home together with Naira Marley. When Gabby inquired about the amount deposited into Wunmi’s mother’s bank account as well as Mohbad’s own mother’s account, the deceased artist explained that only N100k was transferred to his mother’s account, yet did not comment on the deposit made into Wunmi’s mother’s account.

In the audio clip, he mentioned he was able to return the money and requested repayment of his due amount.

In the audio clip, Mohbad added that he was due N130 million from his previous music label. He listed various performances he took part in where he remained unpaid, aside from those that helped cover his car expenses.

The deceased artist emphasized that income generated from performances was distinct from earnings through streaming platforms. He mentioned that each time he asked about the finances, Naira Marley would take out a notebook to present the records. Mohbad stated he had never actually seen the physical cash, only the paperwork.

Gabby vowed to examine the situation and make sure all things were settled. Keep in mind that multiple problems arose after Mohbad’s passing. This led VDM to conduct an investigation.
