Nepal, April 2 — The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has announced that they will grant Rs 1 million to each family of individuals who were killed during the violent pro-monarch demonstration held in Tinkune on March 28.

On Fridayโ€™s protest, the police fired upon and fatally wounded Sabin Maharjan. Likewise, a blaze erupted during the demonstration, resulting in the death of journalist Suresh Rajak as he reported on the incident.

A source from the MoHA mentioned that the administration will allocate Rs 1 million to the families of each victim. The MoHA has already proposed this to the Ministry of Finance for fund disbursement.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has directed the Police Headquarters to enhance protection for journalists. As a result, the Police Headquarters has started taking appropriate actions.
