FBI
Director Kash Patel cautioned that the U.S. must become ‘more watchful’ regarding incoming items through the Canadian border since opponents have ‘adjusted their tactics.’

The chief law enforcer asserted this during his testimony to legislators at the House Intelligence Committee regarding international threats on Wednesday.

‘The flow of known and suspected terrorists into our country is greater via our northern border compared to our southern border,’ Patel cautioned.

He credited it to the ‘successes we’ve achieved in sealing off our southern border.’

Patel was responding to questions from Congressman Greg Steube when he admitted this during their discussion about fentanyl trafficking across the US border.

During another part of the hearing, Patel mentioned that recognized and presumed terrorists are entering through the southern border ‘less frequently.’

He mentioned that since January 20th, when President Trump assumed office, two known or suspected terrorists have been detained at the southern border.

Patel mentioned that they are appearing more frequently along the northern border, and since January 20th, this count has reached 34.

‘Those metrics have been implemented over the past year in terms of ratios,’ the FBI director added.

He stated that this suggests ‘those aiming to cause the greatest damage to the nation are exploiting the northern border.’

Patel mentioned that the U.S. should redirect resources towards securing the Canadian border.

During the hearing, the FBI director admitted that the two biggest threats to the United States are China and Russia.

‘The enemy adapts,’ Patel said.

He cautioned that Americaโ€™s opponents like China, Russia, and Iran have completely ceased utilizing the southern border.

However, he mentioned that they have redirected their attention and assets to the northern frontier since the Trump administration has intensified efforts to secure the border with Mexico.
