By the end of summer, the Gyeonggi Province Educational Office conducted the ‘2025 Sports Dreaming Career Academy’ at the Gyeonggi Student Sports Center.

The gathering took place at the Gyeonggi Student Sports Center Convergence Sports Complex in Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 23rd, drawing approximately 200 high school students and their families from Gyeonggi Province who aspire to pursue careers in sports. Organized by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, the event aimed to support the development of upcoming athletes by offering detailed insights into methods for gaining admission to sports-focused universities, real-world preparatory steps, as well as academic guidance aligned with student life.

The “2025 Physical Education Dream Career Academy” was split into two time slotsโ€”from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.โ€”with each session accepting 40 families (comprising 40 students and 40 supervisors). However, the number of participants surpassed the limit within just a few days because of high demand. In response, the Gyeonggi Province Educational Office made careful adjustments to the venue and outdoor area to ensure every applicant had an opportunity to join.

On the day of the event, students and their parents who arrived early at the Gyeonggi Student Sports Center took time to relax by exploring the newest sporting gear, the venue for activities, and joining the bicycle experience program following the instructions provided by the staff. Afterwards, Roh Moo-ki, a teacher from Yongin Sanghyeon High School, shared essential tips that both students and parents should be aware of, covering โ–ถ methods for comprehending and supporting plans regarding physical education university admissions for the 2026 academic year โ–ถ techniques for developing practical abilities required for the 2025 admission cycle. During the ensuing question-and-answer segment, attendees showed high levels of focus and eagerness to engage.

The “Sports Dreaming Career Academy” operated by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education holds significance as it addresses the needs of both students and parents who have turned toward costly private exam preparation through direct involvement in educational initiatives. The office aims to keep supporting young athletes, helping them build a confident sense of identity within their athletic futures, going beyond merely providing details about physical education admissions tests. Additionally, increased parent engagement is anticipated to improve family awareness regarding career paths, fostering shared efforts between students and families for personal growth.

A representative from the Gyeonggi Province Educational Office stated, “This academy offers an important chance for upcoming athletes to explore and develop their aspirations. We remain committed to developing academic initiatives that make use of studentsโ€™ different abilities and skills,” expressing his intention.
