Dragon’s Lair: Season 3 Production Kicks Off in the UK

Washington D.C., [USA], April 1 (ANI): Great news for all House of the Dragon enthusiasts!

The highly anticipated third season of “House Of the Dragon” has begun filming in the UK, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show will comprise eight episodes.

Furthermore, the show has revealed two casting additions for the upcoming season:
Tommy Flanagan
(Sons of Anarchy) has been cast as Ser Roderick Dustin, and Dan Fogler (known for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) will play Ser Torrhen Manderly, according to the source.

The production has also revealed its new slate of directors for the season, featuring Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming series is anticipated to premiere at some point in 2026.

They become part of the show’s ensemble cast, joining Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim.

Adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, this series takes place 200 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and revolves around the history of House Targaryen.

Seasons 1 and 2 of House of the Dragons gained immense popularity following their launch. As reported by HBO, the first season saw an average viewer count of around 29 million per episode—surpassing all episodes except for the last two seasons of Game of Thrones.

The series “House of the Dragon” is led by showrunner Ryan Condal, who co-created it alongside George R.R. Martin. Other key figures involved include co-creator and executive producer Martin, as well as executive producers Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
