Afram Publications Limited has introduced an educational resource focused on inclusivity called
School Suspects – Hidden Truths and Unexpected Answers
.

The publication addresses topics frequently neglected in youth fiction, such as the difficulties encountered by kids with varying capabilities, and whether young individuals ought to be motivated to pursue their passions or pastimes.

Writer Margaretha Ubels pointed out that wider societal issues like plastic waste, faith in sorcery, and dishonestyโ€”typically not covered in literature aimed at younger audiencesโ€”are also included in the narrative to encourage civic responsibility.

Providing an insight into the storyline, Ms. Ubels stated, “A variety of events take place at their school: mysterious incidents occur, pupils go missing, there’s suspicion surrounding a contest, and a fellow student exhibits extremely poor conduct. The novel centers around three students who attempt to understand these occurrences and challenge the confusion created by others. In doing so, they develop into investigators as well as leaders, active members of society, and compassionate supporters. Audiences witness these traits as they delve deep into their thoughts and experiences, making the characters exemplary figures for addressing current issues within schools nationwide.”

She added that
Suspects in the School
serves as an essential tool for parents, as it enhances kids’ ability to read while simultaneously influencing how they view the world.

In order to ensure the book is suitable for children with dyslexia, the writer mentioned that the layout and font style have been designed to be easy on the eyes for those facing learning challenges, making it simpler for readers to connect with the content. “Parents whose kids aren’t fond of reading should provide them with this book and motivate them to interact with it, experiencing the pleasure of storytelling even though they typically face obstacles when dealing with written material,” she stated.

Speaking about the release, Rebecca Ekpe, vice president of the Ghana Journalists’ Association, praised the writer. “Margaretha Ubels is truly a powerful woman, brave and fearless in tackling the topic of dyslexia and the core issue of inclusive education and learning within her book,”
Persons of Interest at the Institution – Hidden Truths and Unanticipated Resolutions
as she had done.

This publication highlights the challenges experienced by numerous kids in Ghana and was written by a community developer with more than 20 years of experience working within the nonprofit field as an NGO director and social innovator. It can be found at Blue Knight Bookshop, EPP Book Services, Book Nook, the Afram Publications Limited branch in Kumasi, and various other bookstores across the country.
