On Saturday, The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, along with his deputy, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, strongly denounced the recent assaults on the Ruwi, Manguna, Daffo, Josho, and Hurti areas within the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The alleged assaults resulted in numerous fatalities, leaving many more wounded, primarily affecting women and children.

The Speaker particularly voiced his outrage regarding the assaults, characterizing them as both indiscriminate and savage.

Speaker Abbas expressed sorrow over the deaths, casualties, and damage to property, characterizing the event as “yet another one.”

As he sympathized with the families of the victims, the Speaker tasked the pertinent security organizations with apprehending and bringing the assailants to justice, cautioning that unchecked crimes have grave repercussions.

The Speaker conveyed his most sincere sympathies to both the people and the government of Plateau State. He also prayed to Almighty God to welcome the departed souls and comfort their families.

Similarly, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, strongly denounced the recent attacks carried out by unidentified assailants in Plateau State.

Recently, the assailants attacked Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai communities within the Bokkos Local Government Area, along with Manguna and Dafo villages, carrying out vicious assaults on numerous households and families.

The severe attacks, which devastated these communities, apparently led to considerable loss of lives and damage to property.

Hon. Kalu voiced his profound worry and anger in a public statement about the assaults, stressing that these indiscriminate murders and acts of violence are intolerable and should be denounced by all patriotic Nigerians.

Nevertheless, he warmly greeted President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโ€™s pledge to capture those responsible and ensure they face justice, promising the President steadfast backing from the Parliament throughout this process.

The Deputy Speaker likewise conveyed his sincere sympathies to the victims’ families, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and all residents of Plateau State regarding this unfortunate incident.

He called upon NEMA and other pertinent governmental bodies to promptly supply aid materials to those impacted by the assaults, stressing the importance of rapid measures to ease the distress of the sufferers.
