2027: Northern Stakeholders Urge Tinubu to Replace Shettima

From the North-Central region of the party, calls have been made for President Bola Tinubu to remove Vice President Kashim Shettima from his ticket in the 2027 election.

The stakeholders requested Tinubu to select his vice-presidential candidate from their region if he seeks their backing for another term as President.

it has become clear that the stakeholders have started consultations with prominent politicians and previous public officials to achieve their goals.

On Saturday, the stakeholders convened a private session with retired General Aliyu Gusau, who formerly served as the National Security Adviser, along with His Royal Highness, the Onah of Abaji Musa Yunusa, ex-lawmaker Senator John Danboyi, and several unnamed participants. The objective was to advocate for the idea of having a president from the North Central region.

The Chairman of the North-Central Renaissance Movement, Professor Nghargbu K’tso, who leads the delegation, made this known in a statement distributed to everyone.

The statement indicated, “The North Central region is bolstering efforts to promote the idea of returning the presidency to their area by 2027 via extensive discussions with key individuals within the geopolitical zone and across Nigeria as a whole.”

We called upon Nigerians to join forces in making this movement a reality and placing the region into the mix with other areas that have had the constitutional privilege of providing both presidents and vice-presidents in Nigeria. The region possesses the capability to take charge instead of always being under leadership.

This development occurs just two days following a press conference where numerous stakeholders and regional party leaders declared their agreement to collaborate towards electing the subsequent President, marking 65 years since the area was last represented in this capacity.
