The Ioniq 6 has consistently been noted for its divisive design. This will remain unchanged even after a stylish refresh; however, Hyundai assures enhanced comfort and improved technology features.

The
Hyundai Ioniq 5
receives all the credit for sales, yet its sibling, the
Ioniq 6 sedan
is the genuine top pick at InsideEVs. Even though its design is quite divisiveโ€”I happen to like it, yet I can see why some might notโ€”it leads in both technological innovation and driving range. For the 2026 model year, significant upgrades are coming, as well as improvements aimed at enhancing performance.

The revamped 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 made its debut at the Seoul Mobility Show, closely resembling the RN22e concept from 2022. Although its frontal design was sleek previously, it has become notably more aerodynamic. The former dual-layer rear wing has been substituted with a modern ducktail element that enhances aesthetics and performance across all aspects.

Internally, Hyundai states that the sedan features a redesigned steering wheel, improved trim materials, a new central control panel, and various enhancements. Additionally, the Ioniq 6 introduces an N Line performance version similar to other Hyundai models. This particular edition offers a more “dynamically assertive and aggressive design” compared to the regular Ioniq 6, incorporating several styling elements seen in the RN22e concept.

This is what we understand so far. However, many details remain unclear, such as the vehicleโ€™s range, performance capabilities, charging rates, and additional functionalities. It’s likely that the Ioniq 6 will be equipped with the updated 63 kWh and 84 kWh battery packs recently introduced in Hyundai Motor Groupโ€™s electric vehicles.

Given that the present Ioniq 6 has an estimated top range of 342 miles under the U.S. testing conditionsโ€”which positions it as one of the more impressive long-distance electric vehicles availableโ€”the battery capacity in this upcoming model might approach approximately 400 miles. Should it maintain a reasonable price point, it could become one of the most viable options for lengthy electric journeys. Regarding the Ioniq 6 N, specifics remain limited at this stage; however, itโ€™s expected to make its debut sometime in July.
