The primary cause of burnout—which has become an extensive issue globally today—is work-related stress. Numerous individuals think it stems primarily from their own actions, personalities, or deeply personal factors. However, this belief could not be further from the truth.

The biggest contributor to burnout is undoubtedly work stress. While our thoughts, behaviors, and convictions have an influence, the primary driver remains work-related pressure.

I have no idea what’s causing my stress! Where is all this tension coming from? And why do I feel so drained?

These questions frequently come up for me, and you’ve likely pondered them at least once in your lifetime. After all, we’re all familiar with stress—we’ve experienced it, confronted it, and continue to manage it every single day.

Currently, I deal extensively with workplace stressors. Since managing what you understand becomes manageable, concealing issues tends to impact you subtly—often leaving you unaware of the root cause behind exhaustion and severe responses. Although stress-management strategies can help address your reactions, physical state, and mental well-being, their effects tend to be short-lived. This is because the underlying job-related stress persists. Essentially, it’s akin to placing a tiny Band-Aid over an extensive injury.

You must venture into the deeper layers and address issues at their core. You can’t effectively reduce stressors and stress until you identify them. Once identified, determine your starting point.

Reveal the 20 sources of stress at your workplace, and regain control.

My exhaustion due to overwork and my journey with stress

I encountered various forms of job-related stress, initially as an employee before transitioning into roles such as an entrepreneur, manager, and solo professional. During my entrepreneurial phase, I experienced severe burnout. It got to the point where I needed to step away from my career entirely, take some time for recovery, and eventually pivot towards a new path. This led me to become a psychologist, dedicated to assisting individuals struggling with significant stress and exhaustion.

However, before we delve into burnout, let’s examine the various forms of stress you encounter at your job. I developed an e-book as a gift that reveals the 20 different stress factors present in everyone’s professional life.

The purpose of this Gift E-Book is for you to:

• gain better understanding of what triggers your stress responses

• Make educated choices regarding intervention locations, methods, and elements requiring modification
