In the past two months following its introduction, the Telecel 2Moorch Money Promo has brought financial optimism and brightened the lives of numerous individuals throughout Ghana, as participants have secured prizes through the telecom company’s daily and weekly cash reward initiatives.
Ebenezer Botwe, an experienced tile installer who has worked for three decades in setting tiles on walls and floors, shares his story starting from when he activated the campaign on his mobile device towards the end of June until he secured GH₵20,000 by the close of July.
It started with an advertisement on television. That particular ad showed a landlord evicting a tenant who couldn’t afford the rent, and then miraculously, the tenant got a message saying he’d won more than a million cedi. I saw it and thought to myself, this could also make a big difference for me.
Ebenezer mentioned that he took out his phone, entered the USSD code: *500#, to start the promotion and remained connected.
A father-of-six from Darkuman mentioned that he was engaged in a tiling project approximately six weeks after enrolling in the promotion when he received a phone call informing him that he had won GH¢20,000. Overjoyed, he promptly told his wife and hoped that the unexpected windfall wasn’t a fraud.
Two days after, Ebenezer collected his cash reward into his Telecel Cash account during the award ceremony held at the Dome Market, along with his spouse and companions. He recounted his experience during church services, urging fellow congregants to participate in the Telecel 2Moorch Money promotion.
“It is part of God’s design. This funds will be directly used for growing my tiling company, allowing me to handle larger projects and employ more individuals. The Telecel 2Moorch Money promotion is genuine—simply register, remain active, and you might claim the weekly prize,” Ebenezer stated.
In the last nine weeks, 60 individuals have claimed the weekly cash reward of GH₵20,000 across various locations throughout the nation, including Kasoa, Savelugu, Jirapa, Hohoe, Koforidua, and Berekum, highlighting the campaign’s extensive national influence and accessibility.
Telecel Ghana’s 2Moorch Money Promotion stands as the company’s most extensive customer incentive initiative yet, offering more than 10,000 participants the chance to receive daily and weekly cash awards, culminating in a final grand prize of GHC1.2 million by the end of September.
More than 600 kilometers to the north, Sajidatu Wumbrili, a freshman studying Public Health, was participating in a hands-on research project in Bongasi, a tiny village near Tamale, when her phone started ringing with comparable positive updates.
“They told me I’d won GH¢20,000, but I assumed it was a joke,” she said with laughter. The key moment arrived when the Telecel team suggested coming to her place and taking her to Tamale for the cash reward ceremony.
Sajidatu mentioned that receiving the money seemed like a heavenly sign. “I didn’t think I would get such a large amount of money without any stress. It’s a gift.”
Residing with her parents and two younger brothers and sisters in Tamale, Sajidatu aspires to become an epidemiologist to assist in minimizing disease epidemics across northern Ghana. As a caring daughter, she gave almost all of the award funds to her parents so they could use it for their modest family business and her studies, reserving some for her personal expenses.
“They have consistently had faith in me. Now, I can contribute in my own manner,” she stated.
The head of Consumer Business at Telecel Ghana, Aneth Muga, stated that the victorious customer narratives demonstrate that the 2Moorch Money Promotion is achieving precisely its intended purpose.
“We’re thrilled to observe that the 2Moorch Money initiative is bringing about financial independence, inspiring aspirations, and assisting individuals with genuine goals to reach them. The key point is witnessing improvements in people’s lives through the monetary incentives, and we’ll continue promoting this offer because it has the potential to positively transform their lives,” said Aneth.
Supervised by the National Lottery Authority via its Caritas system, Telecel Ghana is offering prizes to 120 clients each day worth GH¢100; up to eight victors receiving GH¢20,000 per week, and the most fortunate Telecel customer could win a transformative amount of GH¢1.2 million.
