The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX)’s key KSE-100 Index maintained a downward movement on Tuesday, falling by 380.24 points, representing a decrease of 0.26 percent, ending at 148,435.06 following the prior trading session which closed at 148,815.31. In terms of volume, 665,420,243 shares were exchanged throughout the day, down from 693,301,556 shares recorded previously. The value of trades reached Rs31.543 billion, contrasting with Rs26.343 billion observed on the last business day. Out of 479 firms listed, 196 experienced an increase in share prices, while 256 faced declines; meanwhile, the stock values of 27 companies stayed constant.
Three leading trading firms included First Dawood Prop, holding 40,159,110 shares priced at Rs7.43 each; Kohinoor Spinning, with 33,777,336 shares valued at Rs6.74 apiece; and Tree Corporation, owning 33,123,483 shares at Rs24.84 per unit. Nestle Pakistan Limited experienced the highest surge in share value, rising by Rs121.65 to end at Rs8,225.07, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited came second with an increase of Rs61.80, reaching Rs9,629.99. On the flip side, PIA Holding Company Limited saw the largest drop, falling by Rs561.33 to settle at Rs26,550.77, closely followed by Bata Pakistan Limited, whose stock declined by Rs157.17 to finish at Rs1,554.41. In the futures market, 324 companies participated, with 147 showing gains, 172 recording losses, and five maintaining stable pricing.
