The Social Health Authority (SHA) is seeking qualified and interested Kenyans to fill vacant positions in various departments starting in April 2025.
SHA took over from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) in October 2024 and is mandated to ensure implementation of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
Why SHA want to recruit
The authority invited qualified and interested candidates to apply for the open positions in different departments, including legal and logistics.
SHA board the move is aimed at enhancing the authority’s capacity to deliver its mandates.
“To enhance institutional capacity and deliver on its mandate, the SHA Board seeks to recruit visionary, result-driven, and experienced professionals,” read the SHA job advertisement in part.
Which jobs are available at SHA
1. Deputy Director Legal Services
The job holder will provide strategic legal leadership and guidance to ensure the Social Health Authority (SHA) operates within the legal and regulatory framework
Requirements:
- 15 years cumulative experience, and at least three (3) of which should have been at the level of Assistant Director or in a comparable position in the public or private sector.
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;
- Master’s Degree in Law or a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law
- Admitted as an advocate at the High Court of Kenya;
2. Deputy Director of Supply Chain Management
The person will offer strategic guidance for the procurement, logistics, and asset management departments within the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Requirements:
- With 15 years of accumulated experience, including at least three (3) years served as an Assistant Director or in a similar capacity within either the public or private sector.
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields: Supply Chain Management, Commerce with an emphasis on Supplies Management, or Procurement, along with an equivalently qualified certification from a reputable organization.
- A master’s degree in one of these fields: Supply Chain Management, Commerce with an emphasis on Supply Management, Procurement, or a similar certified qualification from an accredited organization.
3. Deputy Director of Claims & Case Management
The candidate will offer strategic guidance in managing, handling, and settling health insurance claims for the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Requirements:
- A total of 15 years of accumulated experience, with a minimum of three (3) years served as an Assistant Director or in a similar capacity within either the governmental or corporate sectors.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from an accredited university.
- A Master’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, or related healthcare disciplines, obtained from an accredited organization.
What are the conditions for payments related to SHA jobs?
The SHA board observed that eligible candidates will receive an annual basic salary ranging from KSh 243,348 x 12,172 to 416,212. The specific amounts include: KSh 255,521 x 12,775; KSh 268,295 x 13,418; KSh 281,714 x 14,085; KSh 295,799 x 14,787; KSh 310,586 x 15,530; KSh 326,116 x 16,308; KSh 342,423 x 17,115; KSh 359,538 x 17,987; KSh 377,525 x 18,870; KSh 396,395 x 19,817; up to KSh 416,212 annually.
Additional benefits consist of a housing subsidy of KSh 65,000, a transport allowance of KSh 26,000, and a leisure budget of KSh 12,500.
