Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has chosen to give Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi some time off for their upcoming Ligue 1 game versus Saint-Étienne scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025.
The club announced through an official tweet on their social media platform that, following discussions with the sports administration and technical team, Hakimi has been permitted to continue resting and will resume training on Sunday.
Hakimi was absent from Morocco’s recent game against Tanzania, which they won 2-0, because he had too many yellow cards. In his place, Youssef Belammari from Raja Casablanca took over at left-back.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique is counting on Hakimi’s services for the upcoming decisive matches, particularly in the UEFA Champions League against Aston Villa.
During a press briefing, Enrique highlighted Hakimi’s significance, describing him as an essential member of the team at the French club.
This season, Hakimi has participated in 37 games for PSG in total, netting 5 goals and delivering 11 assists.
