On March 21, Eliud Owalo, who serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management within the President’s office, visited various initiatives in the region scheduled to be part of the President’s itinerary.
Ichung’wah urged residents to avoid harmful politics designed to divide them and instead back the government in its efforts to enhance their living conditions.
“He stated that those claiming we should abandon the government are misleading us. We must back the government,” he emphasized.
The Member of Parliament stated that the Mt Kenya area significantly contributed to Ruto’s victory and expressed their entire-hearted welcome for him.
“Today, the President held a meeting with Members of Parliament from Meru County ahead of his upcoming visit. We are delighted to welcome him to our area since the Kenya Kwanza administration belongs to us as citizens. This government isn’t ours merely due to some people being part of it; we understand it truly represents us,” he stated.
As Murang’a residents were encouraged to turn out in significant numbers to demonstrate their backing for the President during his visit, Ichung’ wah also cautioned against believing rumors suggesting that the area was under scrutiny.
They asserted that Principal Secretaries from this area were under attack, yet individuals who were dismissed were subsequently substituted with others hailing from the same region.
He disclosed that the President will officially open both the Kenol Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Sh312 million Maragua Bridge initiative.

MP Maina additionally encouraged citizens to turn out and greet the President during his visit, stressing the importance of collaborating with the administration.
Maina, a staunch supporter of the President, stated that it would be counterproductive to campaign for the election of the Kenya Kwanza government only to distance oneself from it once it assumes power.
She pledged to keep backing the administration, noting that being closer to those in power would enable her to more effectively advocate for women’s issues.
Nominee MP Sabina Chege also encouraged Murang’a residents to keep all their elected officials responsible and not let themselves be influenced by misinformation.
