The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has created history by appointing its first female National Deputy President, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, to lead the planning committee for their 70th anniversary celebrations.
The announcement made by NUJ President Comrade Alhasan Yahya signifies an important step toward the organization’s dedication to inclusivity and balanced gender representation among its leaders.

At the launch of the nine-person committee, President Yahya stated that this occasion would underscore the Union’s development, accomplishments, and the significant efforts made by its members throughout the last seventy years.
