The former national chairman of the now-defunct National Caretaker Committee of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), as well as a two-term chairman of the Lagos State council of the same union, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, firmly denies the circulating rumors alleging that he sold one of his properties in the Oko Oba area of Agege, Lagos, for ₦420 million.
In response to the accusation, the head of NURTW said, “I have been made aware that a tale is circulating virally alleging that I, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, have sold one of my properties in Oko-Oba for an astounding sum of ₦420 million. It becomes necessary for me to address this outright untruth and clarify matters.”
Initially, yes, I possess multiple properties in the Oko-Oba region; however, they are not listed for sale. The specific property being discussed is presently under refurbishment with contractors actively engaged in making it more livable.
Agbeded issued a challenge to anyone who disagreed with him, urging them to present documentation supporting the claimed transactions. “Let anyone who asserts they bought this property bring forth the requisite documents and paperwork to substantiate their assertion,” he stated confidently. He firmly believed that no such proof would surface since these dealings were entirely fictitious.
He urged members of the public to ignore the fake news and to be careful about the dissemination of incorrect information.

“I’m grateful for the support and comprehension from my friends, family, and coworkers regarding this issue. This is an occasion for me to reassure both my friends and followers that I am financially stable, which means there’s no reason for me to sell my property,” he affirmed.
