In Jammu and Kashmir, most mosques and dargahs fall under the jurisdiction of the Waqf Board, and we are pleased with our comprehensive efforts. Our staff works tirelessly around the clock. There won’t be any grievances regarding the Waqf Board’s services as they consistently meet public expectations… The condition of our dargahs has never been better; they’re more pristine now, providing visitors with all necessary amenities without any cause for complaint…,” Andrabi stated following a board meeting held with ANI.

A statement released on Saturday announced that an increase in compensation has been mandated for employees who have been temporarily working with significantly low pay for many years.
According to the announcement, staff members have been classified as skilled, semi-skilled, or unskilled categories, with respective monthly salaries set at Rs 18,000, Rs 16,000, and Rs 15,000.
The announcement effectively means a 200 percent to 400 percent hike in the salaries of these low-paid employees who have been working for years on remuneration as low as Rs 3000 per month.The regular employees of the Board, Imaams, Khateebs, Pensioners, and Family Pensioners have also benefited from the announcement, with a 20 per cent hike to their salaries, it said.
The instructors at Waqf Managed Bibi Halima College of Nursing & Medical Technology have received a 15 percent increase in their salaries. Additionally, special allowances for staff members with extra responsibilities have been established. Furthermore, an travel allowance of Rs 3000 per month has been mandated for the personnel working in the Engineering Wing.
As per information from the Waqf Board sources, this step is due to the persistent endeavors of the current board members, who have notably enhanced the organization’s fiscal standing. According to an official statement, these measures aim to upgrade the quality of life for more than one thousand workers employed within the Kashmir division, enduring low wages for many years.
At a meeting conducted on Saturday with Andrabi presiding over it, the Waqf Board made this determination. The participants included Board members Ghulam Nabi Haleem and Syed Mohammed Hussain, along with the Executive Magistrate from the same board, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin. (ANI)
