Kathmandu, April 2 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed by 23.86 points on Wednesday, closing at 2700.04 points, marking an increase of 0.89%. This followed a dip of 16.95 points on Tuesday when the index fell to 2676.17 points.
Altogether, 166 firms witnessed an uptick in their share prices, whereas 78 companies faced a decrease in valuation. The overall trading volume reached Rs5.44 billion, encompassing 53,884 trades. Throughout the day, a total of 10,442,683 stocks changed hands.
Except for the production and processing segment, which declined by 103.76 points, and the life insurance division, which decreased by 31.83 points, all other subgroups experienced increases. Notably, the trade sector showed the most significant improvement, surging by 423.29 points among those performing well.
