Non-governmental organizations throughout Namibia gathered to observe World NGO Day, participating in crucial conversations centered around collaboration, communication, and joint initiatives.

Initially scheduled for February 27th, the event was rescheduled to March to honor the national mourning period after the death of Namibia’s founding father, Dr. Sam Nujoma.

This assembly served as an essential stage where various parties could reinforce their collaborations and investigate new ways to improve teamwork.

The Namibia Nature Foundation mentioned that they felt privileged to contribute to and participate in the week’s celebrations.

They mentioned that they held sessions such as Youth Connect, which motivated tertiary-level students from institutions including the International University of Management, Namibia University of Science and Technology, and the University of Namibia by showcasing various career paths and the social influence of non-governmental organizations.

They mentioned that they hosted a networking conference for Civil Society Organizations, facilitating discussions on crucial development topics such as governance, socioeconomic prosperity, the supportive ecosystem for civil societies, and the transition towards renewable energy sources.

They mentioned that the conference gathered both governmental bodies and private financial institutions.

World NGO Day serves as an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the impact of non-governmental organizations on societal progress, activism, and beneficial transformation.
